From one click
to a finished guide.

Chronika records a task as you do it. Each click becomes a step with its screenshot. You tidy the result, share it, and, if you like, walk someone through it step by step.

What is Chronika?

Chronika is a way to document a process with screen capture. Press record and do the task: each click becomes a numbered step with a screenshot and the click ringed. Then you edit the steps, share the guide as a link or a file, and walk colleagues through it with Guide Me.

01Four areas

02From click to guide

You click. Chronika writes it down.

Here is what happens to one click, using a drawn sample portal.

  1. You click

Do the task the way you always do, in a browser tab or in a Windows program.

  2. It is captured

The click gets a step: a screenshot, the click ringed, and the name of what you clicked.

  3. It is uploaded

Each step goes up as it happens. Password fields are blurred first, and what you type in them is not kept.

  4. The guide opens

When you stop, the guide opens in your workspace, ready to edit.

03Six stages

The life of a guide

Every guide moves through the same six stages. You can stop at any of them; the earlier ones are enough for a rough draft.

  • 01

    Capture

Record a browser tab or any Windows program. One step per click, with a screenshot.

  • 02

    Narrate

Talk it through while you work. Your words line up with the steps they belong to.

  • 03

    Develop

With AI set up, a title, an introduction and the step text are drafted for you. Without it, sensible defaults.

  • 04

    Mark up

Blur, crop, zoom and annotate. Add a tip, a note or an alert where people go wrong.

  • 05

    Share

Send a public read-only link, or export to PDF, Word, HTML or Markdown.

  • 06

    Guide me

Walk a colleague through it one step at a time, in a player or on the live site.

Stages 1 and 2 live on the Capture page, 3 and 4 on Edit, 5 on Share, and 6 on Guide Me.

04Questions

The short answers

What can Chronika record?
A browser tab, through the Chrome and Edge extension, and any window or screen on Windows, through the Windows app. Both add to the same library of guides.
Is the AI write-up required?
No. Without an AI provider, recordings still get sensible titles and step text. With one, a finished recording is written up for you, and the guide page offers a write-up you can review, apply and undo.
What happens to passwords?
Password fields are detected and blurred in the screenshot before upload, and the text typed into them is not recorded. If a picture cannot be made safe, it is left out. Look over a guide before you share it.
Who can see my guides?
Members of the workspace, with a role of owner, admin, editor or viewer. Anyone else sees a guide only if its author turns on a public read-only link.
Can I take a guide out of Chronika?
Yes. Export it as PDF, Word, HTML or Markdown.
What does it cost?
See pricing for the plans.
