In short

Chronika is documentation software for operations teams. Record a recurring job as it is done, and each click becomes a step with its screenshot, so the standard way is written down by doing it. Editors keep the steps current, viewers read them, and collections keep the jobs in order.

01How it works

Record it. Share it. Fix it. Keep it.

The Friday stock count belongs to whoever is on shift, and each person does it a little differently. Record the way your best person does it, and the Monday shift opens the same steps.

  1. Capture it as you work

Record the job as it is really done

A procedure written from memory skips the awkward steps. Record a real run instead, in a spreadsheet, a browser tab or a desktop client, and the steps come out in the order they happened.

    • Record one window or a whole screen on Windows, and a tab in Chrome or Edge
    • Keep the browser part and the desktop part of a job in the same guide
    • Narrate the reasons while you work, so the “why” is not lost
  2. Share it where work happens

Hand the same steps to every shift

Share a guide with the people in your workspace, or send a public link to a partner or a contractor outside it. When a binder or a shared folder is the better home, export a PDF.

    • Public read-only links you can switch off
    • PDF, Word, HTML and Markdown exports with the click rings drawn in
    • Guide Me plays a guide one step at a time for someone doing the job for the first time
  3. Fix the painful parts

Say what must not be skipped

Every recurring job has a step that goes wrong when someone is rushed. Mark it. Put the rule in a note, an alert on the risky click, a tip on the shortcut. The warning sits on the step it belongs to, not on page three of a document.

    • Tips, notes and alerts on any step
    • Zoom in and annotate the cell or the button that matters
    • Crop a busy screen down to the part the reader needs
  4. Keep the library in order

Collections that match how you run things

File guides by process: month-end, receiving, returns. Give the people who run a process editor rights and everyone else viewer rights, so the standard cannot drift by accident.

    • Editors record and edit; viewers read; admins manage who is in the workspace
    • Reorder, hide, duplicate and delete steps when the process changes
    • A personal workspace for drafts, a team workspace for the standard

02Example guides

Guides you would record

These are the kinds of guides an operations team could record. They are examples, not customer work.

  1. 01How to export the month-end report from Excel
  2. 02How to run the weekly stock count
  3. 03How to process a supplier invoice
  4. 04How to hand over at shift change
  5. 05How to book a delivery slot
  6. 06How to close out a purchase order

03What you get

What Chronika does for a recurring job

  • Records Excel, a browser tab or any other Windows program
  • Turns every click into a step with a screenshot and a ringed click
  • Marks a step with a tip, a note or an alert
  • Keeps guides in collections inside a team workspace
  • Limits who can edit with four workspace roles
  • Exports to PDF, Word, HTML and Markdown

04Questions

Before you start

Can viewers change a guide?
No. Viewers read. Editors and above create and edit guides, and admins manage members and invitations. That keeps the standard version the standard.
What about a job with forty clicks?
Record it in one go. Steps upload as they happen, so a long recording does not depend on the browser keeping the extension awake. Afterward you can hide, reorder or delete any step.
Can I get a guide into a binder or a shared folder?
Yes. Export to PDF or Word for paper and folders, or to HTML or Markdown for a page you keep somewhere else. The click rings are drawn into the export.
